Brightside Preschool

At Brightside Preschool, we provide sessional care for children aged 0–5 years, Monday to Friday during term time.

From September 2026, we will be opening a second Brightside Preschool in Hertford, based at Hollybush Primary School, for children aged 2 years and over.

Brightside Preschool is a Community Interest Company (CIC). This means we run to benefit the local community rather than to make a profit. Any surplus income is reinvested back into the setting to support children’s learning, resources, and the overall quality of our provision.

Our aim is to make high-quality childcare affordable and accessible to families in Welwyn Hatfield, and soon Hertford too.

Our Mission

To show Young Minds the Brightside in every day by creating a nurturing, inspiring environment where children feel valued, families feel supported, and every child is given the opportunity to thrive.

Our Ethos

At Brightside Preschool, we believe every child deserves a positive start in life. Rooted in our community and driven by care, we provide inclusive, high-quality early education that nurtures individuality, builds confidence, and supports children to thrive. By working closely with families and reinvesting back into our provision, we ensure childcare remains accessible, purposeful, and centred around what truly matters — children.

About Us

Showing Young Minds the

Brightside in Every Day

At Brightside Preschool, we strive to create a warm, friendly, and nurturing environment where children feel safe, valued, and able to develop at their own pace. Through our rich and engaging curriculum, we introduce children to new topics and meaningful experiences, building on their individual interests and encouraging their natural curiosity.

We place great importance on building strong relationships with our families, working in partnership to ensure every child thrives throughout their early years. Our online learning journals keep families regularly informed about their child’s experiences and progress, while also providing opportunities to share learning from home and be actively involved in their child’s journey.

At Brightside Preschool, we celebrate individuality and promote an inclusive environment where diversity is respected and embraced.

We believe that high-quality early years education should be accessible to all families, as it plays a vital role in giving children the best possible start in life. We offer government-funded sessions for eligible children. Additional hours and paid sessions are available at competitive rates, helping to make childcare affordable for families in our local community.
